One word came to mind when I first heard this CD – Radiant – and the more I listened, the more words I formed of this album. Escape embodies so many things. It is an injustice to try to describe it with one word. It’s Romantic, it’s Sensual, it’s Stylishly Charming, and it’s DONE WELL.

Enrique’s Escape will erase all notions that he is riding on daddy’s (Julio’s) coattails. True to himself, Enrique has done an excellent job of establishing himself with a distinctive aura. Enrique may not be revered as one of today’s greatest vocalists, but he knows how to make a great tune and his passion for his craft is apparent in every song.

Not very often do I like every song on a CD, but Escape is packed with many radio-friendly hits. I think Enrique got me. The first single "Hero" is undeniably sappy, but it’s not the sole element to represent this body of evidence. Evidence that Enrique is capable of doing a respectable job as a songwriter and producer. Assembling a team of collaborators (Steve Morales, David Siegel and Kara Dioguardi), together the four weaved an enchanting cloth of pop music.

Check out the dance fused "Don’t Turn Out the Light" or the chill-out, lounge-ready "Love To See You Cry". Even the romantic ballad "Maybe" has appeal. Enrique’s Escape is pop-o-licious.

The Latin explosion may be fading out, but Enrique is going strong. Unlike many of his cohorts, Ricky Martin and Marc Anthony, Enrique has staying power. If you are looking for a CD to pop in and just have a good time, this is it. If you are only buying two CDs this Christmas season, Enrique’s Escape should be one of them. It is a "musical horizon" just waiting to be appreciated!!!
